Two suspects have been charged in the assault and robbery of a SEPTA passenger late last month, CBSPhilly reports.

The victim was sleeping on a westbound Market-Frankford Line train on Oct. 25 around 12:50 a.m. A man and a woman allegedly grabbed his bag before running off the train when it stopped at the Millbourne Station.

The man woke up and chased the suspects. On the platform, the female suspect took out a Taser and stunned the victim, causing him to fall to the ground, flip over and land on the train tracks below. He collapsed onto the third rail, which powers trains with electricity.

"The third rail is extremely dangerous," Capt. Jones told CBSPhilly. "It’s instant electrocution. It’s instant death.”

The victim was able to get up and call for help, police said. He was taken to the hospital, treated for injuries and later released.

The two suspects fled the scene.

SEPTA Transit Police released surveillance video of the robbery and assault, which eventually led to the arrests of the suspects.

One of the suspects has reportedly complained that bail has been set too high. But the judge is refusing to reconsider, CBSPhilly reports.
