Youth sports get ready for spring

Register your kids and teens for season of exercising and socializing

Little League.

As we slowly defrost from this harsh winter, kids are ready to escape of the house and play outside again. There are a ton of youth sport programs available in Philadelphia, from golf to baseball to cycling. Find out more below and register your boys and girls to play all season long.

Fairmount Sports Association

FSA hosts T-ball, softball and baseball leagues in multiple age groups from 4-16 years old. Games are played on Von Colin Memorial Field. Registration runs through the end of March and can be done online with a $5 transaction fee. If three or more siblings register together, the third and any additional siblings play for free.

Registration: $70 before March 1, $80 thereafter

NEO Little League

Ages 4-14 can play in softball and baseball leagues in multiple skill levels or in T-ball. Games are played at Burholme Park in Cheltenham on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Registration is open until Saturday, March 7.

Registration: $80 for baseball and softball, $60 for T-ball

Philadelphia Athletics Youth Sports Association

Coed T-ball is available for 4-6 year olds and coed "Rookie" coach toss or machine pitch baseball is open for 7-11 year olds. Registration is open online through evaluation day on Saturday, March 21. Games are played at the 48th & Woodland playground. Keep an eye out for PAYSA's travel team baseball, which will hold try-outs this fall for the 2016 spring season.

NEO FC Youth Soccer Organization

Registration for NEO's intramural program is open through Saturday, March 28 and can be done online or in person on select dates. Games are played at Burholme Park in Cheltenham. NEO provides youth soccer year-round with various leagues for ages 3-13.

The First Tee

Kids ages 5-18 can learn how to play golf on multiple levels and in multiple locations with The First Tee's spring classes. The next eight-week session runs Monday, April 13 to Saturday, May 30. The First Tee also offers special groups for home schoolers and free LPGA-USA golf classes for girls.

Neighborhood Bike Works Ride Club

This after-school program for ages 8-18 allows kids to explore the city safely on two wheels. The program runs Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-8 p.m and NBW can provide youth with a bike and a helmet. Participants must be able to ride a bike for 20 minutes at a time and the club meets at NBW's West Philly shop at 3916 Locust St.
