Former New York Giants punter Steve Weatherford sparked heated comments on social media Sunday night after he posted a photo of his old jersey on the Rocky statue outside the Philadelphia Art Museum.

The post comes ahead of Monday night's NFC East matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Giants at Lincoln Financial Field.

"#TeamWeatherford has invaded the city of brotherly love," the post reads. "Can't wait to see my brothers get to work on #MNF Photo Cred: @Teddyv28 via Twitter #NYG #Giants"

Naturally, Eagles fans were not pleased.

Some were upset that he "disgraced" the statue, while others commented on his former position as a punter.

But that didn't stop Weatherford from continuing the conversation.

Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins offered a simple response: "#puntersgetnolove"

Weatherford has run his mouth about the Eagles before, though. He took shots at Tim Tebow, Sam Bradford, Mark Sanchez and Chip Kelly in a short radio appearance in June.

The Eagles and Giants square off at 8:30 p.m.
