Good Housekeeping says Doylestown is Pennsylvania's 'Most Underrated Attraction'

What's the Keystone State's most underrated attraction?

No, it's not Centralia, or the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon, a picnic at Belmont Plateau or even Hawk Mountain.

It's a borough in Bucks County, according to Good Housekeeping magazine.

The national publication put out its "50 Most Underrated Attractions in Every State" list late last month and said that Pennsylvanians should consider taking a road trip to Doylestown, the 8,000-person borough located about 30 miles outside Philadelphia.

While Good Housekeeping suggested actual attractions, like the Cape May Ferry in New Jersey or the Hagley Museum & Library in Delaware – Pennsylvania's pick was a little broader.

Here's what the magazine had to say about Doylestown:

Though many focus their weekend trips on nearby New Hope, the quaint town of Doylestown is home to a few fantastic museums. Take the Mercer Museum, which occupies the former home of historian Henry Mercer. The all-concrete, six-story castle has everything: Mercer was a collector of anything that caught his eye. Conveniently, it's also across the street from the James A. Michener Art Museum, where you can see everything from Nakashima pieces to photography (like the current exhibition on Charles Sheeler's fashion photography).
