According to Doug Pederson, wide receiver Jordan Matthews and running back Ryan Mathews will both practice today, and are expected to play this Sunday against the Washington Redskins.

Matthews missed the last game against the Cincinnati Bengals, after being injured against the Green Bay Packers. Undrafted rookie free agent Paul Turner filled in as the slot receiver and caught six passes for 80 yards. Pederson noted that there are ways that the Eagles can get both Matthews and Turner playing time. On the season, Matthews has 57 catches for 686 yards and 3 TDs. He leads the Eagles in all three of those receiving categories.

Mathews has missed the last two games after being injured against the Seattle Seahawks. On the season, Mathews has 102 carries for 427 yards and 7 TDs. He leads the Eagles in all three of those rushing categories. In the two games Mathews missed, the Eagles gave the ball to their running backs on run plays just 28 times.

The only players who will miss practice Wednesday are OT Halapoulivaati Vaitai (knee) and WR Dorial Green-Beckham (oblique).

At 5-7, the Eagles are currently 11th in the NFC in the wildcard race and trail the six seed by two full games with four games to play. The Eagles getting their leading receiver and leading rusher back from injury this week is probably of more consequence to fantasy football players than it is to the moving the Eagles' season forward, but at least it will give Carson Wentz some legitimate offensive players to work with.
