Applications for roles on a few of the city's advisory commissions are now open for this year.
The commissions are meant to provide insight and feedback into policy priorities for underrepresented communities.

They are the Philadelphia Youth Commission, the Mayor’s Commission on African American Males, Philadelphia Commission for Women, the Mayor’s Commission on Asian American Affairs, and the Millennial Advisory Committee.
Each of the groups is under the Mayor's Office of Public Engagement. Here is the application. The application period opened today, Jan. 10, and will close Feb. 28.
According to a press release, the ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to their community, be able to dedicate a number of hours to the commission every month, and are city residents.
“Everyone benefits when we build diversity into the feedback and decision-making process,” the City’s Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer Nolan Atkinson said in a statement. “In order to have a truly diverse and inclusive city, we must include voices that reflect the many concerns, viewpoints, and priorities of our residents.”
