Lil Uzi Vert, the Philly rapper whose breakout single “XO Tour Llif3” catapulted him to stardom, said on his Instagram Friday night that he’s “done with music.”

Vert, neé Symere Woods, most recently released the single “New Patek” this past September to critical praise.

He was expected to release his second studio album, “Eternal Atake”, later this year.

Here’s the message Vert, 24, posted on his Instagram Story between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Friday, and which remained up on Saturday morning:

"I wanna take the time out to say I thank each and every one of my supports, but I'm done with music. I deleted everything. I wanna be normal ... I wanna wake up in 2013. ... Thank you, love you ... You are free."

For context, Vert was 19 years old in 2013. He released his first project, "Purple Thoughtz Vol. 1", the next year.

Vert’s debut studio album, “Luv is Rage 2”, hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 after its release in August of 2017.

Whether Vert is serious about leaving music for good is unclear.
