A brand new Amazon Locker has suddenly materialized on the edge of South Philly's Devil's Pocket neighborhood, bringing yet another well-known logo to adorn the far west side of South Street.

Joining the Starbucks-CVS-Wawa trifecta just a block away, the new Amazon Locker location at 2306 South St. marks the latest well-known brandname to find a home in the ever-changing (and, some may say, fading) Southwest Center City neighborhood.

Central to the Graduate Hospital area, the new Amazon Locker also comes with an onsite staff, which can help out with returns or for bigger packages that don't exactly fit in a locker.

The new store is the city's second staffed Amazon Locker, with the other on campus at the University of Pennsylvania. There are dozens of other unstaffed Amazon Locker spots through the city, including one near South Street's Whole Foods by 10th Street.

The new storefront quietly began operating over the weekend. Another surprising addition: It comes with a small parking lot of 12 spaces, a highly coveted feature in the neighborhood. The store replaces a lot where a GreenDrop Charitable Donations truck once sat.

Customers can return or pick up held boxes at the store from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Sunday.
