End your Valentine's Day weekend with brunch

Who needs flowers and chocolate when you could have bacon?

The WTF waffle costs $19 and comes layered with grilled ham, an over-easy egg, braised beef cheeks, seared foie gras, and maple-mustard glaze.

With Valentine’s Day falling on a Saturday this year, there's a good chance a lot of hungover and hungry people are going to be waking up beside each other come Sunday morning.

Since the holiday has us feeling all warm and fuzzy, we figured we would take this opportunity to highlight some spectacular post-Valentine’s Day brunch specials in Philadelphia, because – let’s be honest - nothing says "I love you" quite like a side of bacon.

PALLADINO'S on Passyunk

Palladino's on East Passyunk Avenue will preview its first-ever brunch menu this Sunday as a special post-Valentine's treat.

Some highlights include the WTF Waffle – a mound of perfectly cooked waffles layered with grilled ham, an over-easy egg, braised beef cheeks, seared foie gras and saturated in a maple-mustard glaze – and the Salmon Bruschetta, a plate of smoked salmon, crème fraiche scrambled eggs, shaved cucumber, chives and salmon caviar.

While the restaurant doesn't normally serve brunch – just yet - Palladino's is premiering the special brunch menu this weekend in honor of the heart-inspired holiday.

Cuba Libre

The theme for Valentine’s Day weekend at Cuba Libre is "Latin Lovers & Lushes," and it wouldn't be complete without a special Sunday Champagne Punch Brunch.

The brunch menu features unlimited tapas for $28 per person, including Churros con Chocolate and French Toast a La Cubana.

The Spirit of Philadelphia

The Spirit of Philadelphia is hosting a boozy brunch cruise this Sunday called the ‘Eat, Drink and B. Mary' and featuring – wait for it – a bloody mary buffet with an endless array of ingredients, including bacon-infused vodka, blue-cheese-stuffed olives and antipasto skewers.

Max Brenner

There’s no such thing as too much chocolate, especially during Valentine’s Day weekend. To keep the sweetness going, head to Max Brenner: A Chocolate Bar and Restaurant for a chocolate-inspired Sunday brunch with your sweetheart.

The restaurant's brunch menu features a whole section devoted to waffles, including a Philly-centric Cheesesteak Waffle, as well as other dangerous delicious dishes, such as the Illegal Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate Pancakes.
