Eat cheese all day long to support education

It's a win-win, so feel free to indulge

The phrase "treat yo' self" was basically invented for eating insane amounts of cheese. Luckily for Philadelphians, Di Bruno Bros. is always around to satisfying our cheese cravings with a somewhat overwhelming selection and tons of weird events. For instance, they're hosting a Fall Cheese Crawl and Block Party Saturday, Oct. 17.

Just like a pub crawl, attendees start at either The Franklin, Comcast Center, Ardmore Farmers’ Market or Rittenhouse Square Di Bruno locations. From there, they circulate through the brand's locations sampling rare domestic and imported cheese, cider, wine and bites from 1732 Meat and Weckerly's Ice Cream. Along the way, they'll find a photo booth, live illustrations by Denise Fike and speed quizzo with Johnny Goodtimes.

At the end of the day, crawlers head to the Di Bruno Italian Market location for an exclusive block party. Attendees can then redeem stamps they received at each cheese shop for snacks and drinks like bacon "porkloaf" sandwiches or Yards Brewery beer. Atley Moon & The Say Something Sound Machine will provide the block party jams and guests can throw cream pies at third generation Di Bruno owner Emilio Mignucci.

And to top it all off? Proceeds from the day go toward the Drexel University Center for Hospitality & Sport Management, where the Culinary Arts and Food Science departments live. So you'll be eating cheese to support future potential cheesemongers. It's a win-win.
