Bar Ferdinand is found on 1030 N. 2nd St. It will close its doors after 11 years on Oct. 10.

After more than a decade, Bar Ferdinand in Northern Liberties will close on Oct. 10.

The announcement came in the form of a post on the popular Spanish tapa joint's Facebook Friday.

The restaurant is owned by Owen Kamihira, who also owns the Tex-Mex restaurant El Camino Real that sits parallel to Bar Ferdinand on Liberties Walk. Kamihara is set to open another El Camino Real in Manayunk though no date has been set yet.

Bar Ferdinand has been open for 11 years.

The restaurant didn't give any reason behind the close, but Philly.com reports that its landlord was trying to raise its rent too high to afford after its lease ended.
