Spend a day at annual New Jersey Festival of Ballooning

Cross 'take a ride in a hot air balloon' off your bucket list

The 35th annual QuickChek New Jersey Festival of Ballooning will take place at Solberg Airport, located about an hour-and-a-half drive outside Philly, on Friday, July 28 through Sunday, July 30.

The family-friendly event is the largest summertime hot air balloon and music festival in North America. Close to 100 special shape and hot air balloons take flight.

Twice a day, there are mass ascensions. Attendees can choose to watch, or be part of the action and take a ride.

On the ground, there are crafters and vendors, food & drink, yogaaerial acrobat performances and live music.

This year, the Plain White T's are headlining. They will perform on the last night, July 30, at 3 p.m.

View the full schedule of entertainment here, for each day of the festival.

General admission tickets online (needed by anyone wanting to enter the festival grounds) are $10 for children age 4 to 12 and $24 for adults. Tickets will be $15 and $35 at the gates day-of.

Balloon rides are $225 per person in the morning and $250 per person in the evening. Most balloons carry between two to six people.

There's also an option to take a five-minute tethered balloon ride for $20. These rides can only be purchased on-site.
