Prior to tip-off, this year’s charity partner, The Superhero Project, will be presented with a stunning contribution in the amount of $207,050, a record fundraising total in the 37-year history of the event. The Superhero Project provides “Angel Eye Cameras”, closed-circuit video cameras, that enable parents of prematurely born children (“preemies”) to view their babies in hospital NICUs when they cannot physically be by their child’s bedside.

The Philadelphia Building Trades chose The Superhero Project as our non-profit partner this year for a very personal reason. Our office manager, Kelly Ross and her husband, Ryan, are proud parents of three preemies and directly benefited from The Superhero Project and the “Angel Eye Camera” technology.

The 37th Annual All Star Labor Classic will feature more than 60 of our region’s very best young men’s and women’s basketball stars, many of whom will be playing college hoops starting in the fall. Come watch them shine on Sunday, April 14th at Holy Family University (9801 Frankford Avenue). The event is free and fun for the whole family. Hope to see you there!
