Searching for a really easy appetizer to serve before your main course? Look no further than baked tomatoes! All you’ll need is two tomatoes, olive oil, a few common spices, and parmesan cheese. Simply follow the directions below for a delicious low-calorie starter your whole family will love.

Baked Tomatoes – makes 4 servings


• 2 tomatoes, cut in half
• 1 tablespoon of olive oil
• 1 teaspoon of each: parsley, oregano, and basil
• Salt and black pepper
• Parmesan cheese (optional)


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Place tomato halves in a lightly greased baking dish.
  3. Drizzle oil over tomatoes and sprinkle with seasonings.
  4. Bake for about 20 minutes or until heated thoroughly.
