Camden residents gather to learn about health issues.

Registration has opened for Camden County's May 2 women's health conference, an annual event that typically attracts hundreds of women, medical companies and local advocates in the physical and mental health fields.

The conference will offer workshops on several health care issues, from developing a personal life wellness plan to ferreting out medical billing errors.

"There is really something for everyone," Freeholder Carmen Rodriguez told the Courier-Post. "We want to empower women to go out to the community and take that message of healthy living out there."

Three state legislators – Assemblywomen Pamela Lampitt, D-Camden, and Gabriela Mosquera, D-Gloucester; and state Sen. Nilsa Cruz-Perez, D-Camden – will be part of the conference to discuss women's health issues, including reproductive rights and public policy.

The conference will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 2 at Eastern Regional High School
, 1401 Laurel Oak Road, Voorhees.
