Back on April 7, 1933, a small step toward ending Prohibition took place. The Volstead Act was changed to legalize the sale of beer with as much as 3.2 percent alcohol.
Now, that might seem weak to us today, but it was reason for celebration then. Since then, April 7 has become unofficially known as National Beer Day.
Today, celebrate that magic 3.2 number by drinking beer for $3 or less. Find craft beers and local brews on draft, instead of the usual suspects, at most of the bars on this roundup.
The Chestnut Hill restaurant has only been open for dinner so far in 2016. To celebrate National Beer Day, however, the Mexican cantina and tequila bar will open for lunch and serve $3 drafts all day.
