Chris Christie's private beach time gets the meme treatment

Looks like some people had a bit of time on their hands over the long weekend.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie's coastal hangout on the popular Island Beach State Park quickly became a meme after NJ.com photographer Andrew Mills captured the private moment while flying overhead days after the state government's shutdown, caused by lawmakers who couldn't come to an agreement before the Fourth of July weekend.

Though the shutdown ended late Monday after Christie signed a budget deal he was previously opposed to, the deadlock meant residents had to postpone their plans at any of the state parks or beaches.

Except for the governor.

People took advantage of the opportunity by Photoshopping Christie's mug into some pretty mischievous situations.

Like in between George Costanza's thumb and index finger.

Or in the Oval Office during the making of what became a controversial photo of Kellyanne Conway kneeling on a couch while President Donald Trump met with leaders from historically black colleges and universities.

Or in several fast-food restaurants.

Or in the 1953 classic, "From Here to Eternity."

Or in the middle of a glowing orb grasped by Saudi Arabia's King Salman, Egypt's President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Trump.

Or in Steven Spielberg's "Jaws."

Or in Salvador Dali's "The Persistence of Memory" from 1931.
