It may not look or feel all that much like spring, but the calendar doesn't lie. Monday marks the start of the new season and for all of that late winter frustration, your prize is a free cup of water ice.
Rita's locations throughout the area will be offering one free cup of water ice in a limited-edition First Day of Spring container on Monday, March 20, from 12 p.m.-9 p.m.

The promotion marks the 25th year in a row that Rita's has given away free cups on the first day of spring.
In January, the Trevose-based company was acquired by Argosy Private Equity and MTN Capital. Founded in 1984 by a former Philadelphia firefighter, today's Rita's Italian Ice now has more 600 locations in the 30 states and maintains outposts in a handful of foreign countries.
The 2017 season will also mark the return of the company's collaboration with another Pennsylvania-made favorite—PEEPS flavored water ice. Also recommended: limited edition PEEPS Oreos.
