Joel Embiid will not play his seventh straight game.

Joel Embiid has been downgraded from questionable to out for the Sixers' road contest against the Toronto Raptors on Sunday night, according to an updated injury report issued by the team. Embiid, whose initial listing only designated him dealing with left knee injury management, was ruled out with a new tag of "left groin soreness.

It officially ends Embiid's six-game streak of consecutive appearances, which he had not done since the Sixers' 2024 playoff series against the New York Knicks. The last time Embiid played in six consecutive regular-season games was Jan. 15-25, 2024.

As the Sixers also face the Raptors in Toronto on Monday night, Embiid's streak was going to end imminently; perhaps the Sixers have merely opted to save him for the second leg of their back-to-back and stagger him with Paul George, who might also be unable to play in both games.
