Learn to dye yarn with natural ingredients

Use vegetables from the kitchen

The Art Dept. will host a workshop dedicated to natural dye processes on April 23. Attendees will learn the technique and leave the class with samples to use. All skill levels are welcome to attend and the materials will be provided.

Roots, nuts, vegetables and flowers are just a few sources for natural color. The class will focus on dyeing with botanicals like bright orange turmeric or purple onion skins.

Learn how dipping, painting and binding when dyeing creates different outcomes.

The class will run for three hours but drinks and snacks will be available.
