Officials with the Delaware River Port Authority are advising Philadelphia-area commuters to avoid the Benjamin Franklin Bridge Thursday afternoon due to major traffic delays stemming from an overturned tractor-trailer.

It's not clear what led to the accident, but the driver of the vehicle is believed to have survived despite sustaining injuries in the crash.

By 8 p.m., the DRPA announced that the accident had been fully cleared and all lanes were reopened for traffic.
