Police: Man stabs roommate during fight in Montgomery County

Police are investigating after they say a fight between roommates led to a bloody stabbing in Montgomery County early Wednesday, CBSPhilly reports.

The incident occurred just before 2:30 a.m. on the 500 block of Davis Road in Cheltenham.

A fight between two men, believed to be roommates, escalated when one of the men grabbed a knife and stabbed the other in the chest and the arm, according to police.

The victim was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center. He is expected to survive.

The alleged stabber, who was also injured and bleeding heavily, was taken to Abington Hospital for treatment, police said. 

A woman who was inside the home at the time was not harmed.

The cause of the fight was not immediately known.

The incident remains under investigation.
