Little Pete’s, the iconic 24/7, 43-seat diner wedged in the corner at 17th and Chancellor streets in Center City, permanently closed its doors at 9 p.m. on Memorial Day after being open since 1978. Abu Alam, an employee at Little Pete's, came to Philadelphia in 1986 and had worked there for the last 18 years.
