Police: Herr's employee stabbed by coworker in company truck

Suspect charged with aggravated assault, stabbing

Philadelphia police have arrested and charged a suspect after he allegedly stabbed a Herr's employee in a truck in southwest Philadelphia on Friday afternoon.

Authorities say the 23-year-old victim was driving a company truck to the Herr's headquarters on the 3200 block of South 74th Street around 1:45 p.m. when his coworker, a 21-year-old man on a temporary agency assignment, drew a black kitchen knife and stabbed him several times, 6 ABC reports.

The victim told police there were no arguments prior to the incident that would have alerted him to the violent attack and that he had never worked with the alleged suspect before. He was able to escape the vehicle after sustaining several stab wounds and was taken to a hospital for treatment, where he received 10 stitches in his right eye and multiple stitches in his right arm. He also suffered stab wounds to his back, leg, head, and stomach.

The suspect, who has not been identified, faces charges of aggravated assault and stabbing.
