Police: Man shot while driving down highway in Camden County

A man has been fatally shot while driving down a New Jersey highway early Saturday morning, according to state police.

The shooting happened around 2:30 a.m., when New Jersey State Police said another car drove up to the victim's white Ford Fusion heading southbound on Route 42 near exit 14 in Camden County and shot several rounds. The victim crashed the car on the right side of the road.

The victim was taken to Cooper University Hospital in Camden where he was pronounced dead.

Police are not yet releasing the victim's name.
