Rosati Ice has an American Hero ice, which is strawberry lemonade flavored.
Rosati Ice, which has been in the water ice business since 1912, is kicking off Fourth of July weekend with a giveaway. Beginning at 1 p.m. today, June 30, Rosati Ice will hand out free samples at Broad and Sansom streets until supplies run out.
The samples will be of the company's American Hero water ice, which has a strawberry lemonade flavor.
A portion of American Hero's sales go to various nonprofits to help veterans.
To aid veterans during the giveaway, SoldierStrong, an organization that raises money for bionic suits to help severely injured/paralyzed veterans walk again, will be on location collecting money.
Rosati Ice is calling the giveaway Rosy Day and plans on hosting the event each year on the Friday before the Fourth of July.
