Tattoeed Mom celebrates the twentieth Split Thy Skull April 4.

Now in its 20th year, Tattooed Mom is celebrating another year of Split Thy Skull, a barleywine extravaganza.

For the uninitiated, barleywine is a particularly strong style of ale. The bold-flavored brew can reach between 8 and 12 percent alcohol by volume.

On April 4 the South Street bar will play host to a dozen types of locally and nationally made barleywines by the glass or sold in two curated flights for adventurous drinkers.

Tattooed Mom will have surprise menu items for the day as well as Split Thy Skull swag available. Free Vietnamese bahn mi sandwiches and a free soft pretzel buffet will be on hand to keep revelers on the satiated (and safe) side.
