Wildwood tomato pie shop the result of Philly man's pandemic experiments

Steve Keefe, owner of Phly Pies, is opening a tomato pie shop at the Exit4 bar in Wildwood this summer. He plans to hold a soft opening during the last weekend in June. The South Philadelphia resident started making tomato pies during the COVID-19 pandemic and has since held several pop-ups around the city.

At Izakaya by Yanaga in Fishtown, chef known as the 'Sushi Whisperer' finally gets restaurant of his own

Kevin Yanaga, of Izakaya by Yanaga, has earned the nickname the Sushi Whisperer during his time as a chef in Philadelphia. In September he opened his Fishtown restaurant with Glu Hospitality. It will add an omakase room in March, where Yanaga will be providing a curated tasting menu.

Heirloom Kitchen opens Philly pop-up after pandemic dashed dreams of permanent location in city

Heirloom Kitchen has a pop-up restaurant in Philadelphia open through Dec. 19, 2021. Restaurateurs David Viana and Neilly Robinson had planned to open a Philadelphia location of their New Jersey chef's table and cooking school concept in 2020, but COVID-19 derailed those intention.
