If you’re in South Jersey visiting for the day, or a local looking for some new places to explore, here’s good news for you: There’s plenty to do. You won’t need to drive into the city or stay home binge-watching television to banish boredom. Voorhees is a town with plenty to offer, and it has something for everyone.

Here are five places you won’t want to miss:

1. Voorhees Town Center

Looking for a one-stop destination for all of your holiday shopping? With stores like Macy’s, Boscov’s, GameStop and Victoria’s Secret, you’ll find the perfect gift for everyone on your list at Voorhees Town Center! Take a break from your shopping spree for photos with Santa now through Christmas Eve. He’s even taking photos with pets on Mondays! For Santa’s full list of hours, check his schedule.

And the fun doesn’t stop at shopping — visit Tilt Studio inside the mall and experience a massive indoor arcade that features rides, mini bowling, black light mini-golf and even laser tag! There’s also an incredible selection of restaurants outside the mall, including Burger 21, Iron Hill Brewery, Rodizio Grill, Elena Wu and Catelli Duo.

2. Flyers Skate Zone

‘Tis the season for fun on the ice, so the Flyers Skate Zone should be on your must-do list! And since it’s the official training facility of the Philadelphia Flyers, this place has some serious credibility. The skate zone offers skating lessons, ice hockey and figure skating at all levels, so whether you’re a beginner or a literal pro, you’ll feel right at home.

For an extra special time, consider hosting your child’s birthday party here — the party package has some real treats, including the opportunity to have your portrait taken atop the Zamboni machine! The skate zone also happens to be one of the best places around to get your Flyers gear, so you can even get some holiday shopping done for the Flyers fan in your life.

3. Blueberry Hill Trail Park

With the tendency to want to hibernate in the colder months, the Blueberry Hill trails, located within biking distance of Voorhees in Gibbsboro, offer you the chance to get out and stretch your legs, take in some fresh air and yes — maybe even find your thrill (on Blueberry Hill). The view of the Philadelphia skyline is purported to be spectacular, and immersing yourself in nature, even for a short while, definitely has its advantages. Two trailheads offer easy access to parking, making it simple to get there and get on the trail.

4. Library II

If you’re looking for a restaurant that has been around since the late 1940s and is unique to only one place — then treat yourself to Library II. This restaurant is a New Jersey landmark, originally established back in 1947 as “The Rafters.” It’s perfect for a date, or even a full family meal — and it serves only the finest beverages and food.

Library II offers a unique vintage atmosphere, and with walls lined with books, it lives up to its name. And for those looking for a slice of happiness during the week, Library II has a fantastic happy hour offered at the bar. There’s even live entertainment! Local bands, like The Blitz Band, performing on Jan. 7, and Shorty Long & the Jersey Horns, playing Jan. 24, are featured.

5. Golf Land

Love miniature golf as well as regular golf? Then you definitely need to check out Golf Land – open all year long! Golf Land’s mini-golf is perfect for the entire family and offers a day of fun and activity at an easy level that’s perfect for all ages. And for the more experienced golfer, there’s Pitch & Putt — an 18-hole grass golf course that’s perfect for beginners and experts. Private lessons are even offered for those just starting the sport, as well as those who want to perfect their game.

With fun and adventure like this on the horizon, Voorhees is certainly a special place to be this holiday season and beyond.
