Attendees sample wines, visit food trucks and dress up for Derby-inspired fun at the Down & Derby Wine Festival on Veterans Island at Cooper River Park.
The Down & Derby Wine Festival will return to Veterans Island at Cooper River Park on Saturday, May 2, with an afternoon of wine tastings, live music and Derby-inspired outfits along the Cooper River. The festival is a proud partnership between the Camden County Board of Commissioners and Visit South Jersey,.
The event runs from 2 to 7 p.m. and marks its fifth year. Attendees can sample wines from a group of South Jersey wineries, including Amalthea Cellars, Auburn Road Vineyard & Winery, Bellview Winery, Cedarvale Winery, Saddlehill Winery, Sharrott Winery, Summit City Winery, Tomasello Winery, Valenzano Winery, Villari Vineyards, Wagonhouse Winery and White Horse Winery.
Food will be available for purchase from on-site food trucks, and attendees can buy bottles or cases of wine to take home.
Live music will be provided by the GoodMan Fiske Band and the Lally Brothers Band, with sets that include everything from rock and pop to older favorites.
Attendees are encouraged to dress for the occasion, with hats, bow ties and other Derby-style looks. Prizes will be awarded throughout the day for standout outfits.
General admission tickets start at $35 and include up to 20 wine tastings, along with access to the festival grounds. VIP tickets are $110 and include reserved seating under a tent, a catered buffet and access to additional wine selections. A $15 designated driver ticket is also available for those who plan to attend without drinking.
General admission tickets will be available at the door, but VIP tickets must be purchased in advance. The event is rain or shine, with updates provided the day of if needed.
