Just as you can never judge a person until you walk in their shoes, the same goes for a place until you've walked on its pavements.
At least that's the thought behind the free guided walking tours planned in South Philly this weekend, May 2 and 3.
The walks are inspired by Jane Jacobs’ book "The Death and Life of Great American Cities" and will take two-footed travelers on a one-hour trek through the streets of East Passyunk - on Saturday, May 2, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. - and through the Old Southwark District – on Sunday, May 3, from 11 a.m. to noon.
Bing Bing Dim Sum on East Passyunk opened in February in the former location of the Mexican restaurant El Zarape. Thom Carroll/PhillyVoice.The walks will include histories of the places as well as what's planned to come.
