Live updates/open thread: Eagles vs. Rams, Week 14

When the 10-2 Philadelphia Eagles lost in Seattle to the Seahawks last Sunday, they relinquished home field advantage to the 10-2 Minnesota Vikings on tiebreakers. If they were to lose to the Los Angeles Rams this week, the would be bumped down to the No. 3 seed for the time being, losing a first-round bye. As such, this is a huge matchup with major NFC playoff implications.

As we noted in our five matchups to watch, the Rams have an explosive offense and talent on defense, but they are susceptible to the running game. The expectation here is that the Eagles will try to get their rushing attack going early and often.

The Eagles have lost some key players for the season, in Jason Peters, Jordan Hicks, and Darren Sproles, but their injury report lists just two players this week. The Rams have had excellent injury luck for most of the season, as their injured reserve list is light on notable players, though they have a handful of starters listed on their injury report for this game. You can find the full Eagles-Rams injury report with analysis here.

The Eagles are favored by 5.5 points in this matchup. You can find a roundup of local, national, and LA-based picks for this game here.
