The Media Theatre celebrated the opening of a new school and dance studio on Sunday.

The Media Theatre opened a new School and Dance studio, which is expected to enhance and expand the theater's programming.

The studio, located at 28 State Street beside the Plum Street Mall, will offer annual courses for children and adults seeking to advance their talents in dancing, singing and acting, according to the Delaware County Daily Times. Upcoming courses cover tap dancing, songwriting and auditioning.

The Media Theatre celebrated its new studio Sunday by inviting Broadway veteran Andrea McArdle to cut the ribbon at a formal ceremony. McArdle, who grew up in Philadelphia and gained the lead role in "Annie" in 1977, became the youngest performer nominated for a Tony Award as Best Lead Actress in a Musical.
