Wu Tang was in the house at Franklin Music Hall on Thursday night for a 25th anniversary show that reminded Philadelphia why they're the undisputed best of their class.

Of all the members of Wu Tang Clan, none have gone on to wider fame and fortune — while alive, at least — than Method Man. Movies, video games, graphic novels — most importantly, a David Simon casting favorite on TV. He's the kind of guy you're always happy to see.

During the course of the show on Thursday, Method Man stopped to address the home crowd's Philadelphia Eagles. He must have caught wind of the rumblings created by the Carson Wentz story published here at PhillyVoice on Monday.

A video shared on YouTube shows Method Man briefly discussing the merits of Carson Wentz and Nick Foles.

“I’d just like to say, the Philadelphia Eagles had a great run, right? In my opinion, Carson Wentz is a better quarterback, but Nick Foles holds it down. Just my opinion," Method Man said.

Inexplicably, he then suggested Wentz would go play for the New York Jets, who just spent a top pick on quarterback Sam Darnold last year.

"Nah, I’m f***ing with you," he followed.

As it turns out, Method Man is a Giants fan, so no one here should take his football opinions seriously, anyway.

If he really wanted to talk sports, the missed opportunity here was not punning on Gritty Unpredictable Talent and Natural Game. The Flyers mascot could have been a game-changer last night.
