Report: Eagles Pro Bowl LG Landon Dickerson to undergo MRI on his right knee

After exiting Sunday's practice on a cart, the three-time Pro Bowl lineman will have further testing done.

Landon Dickerson pushed through injury in the playoffs last season.

Eagles left guard Landon Dickerson, a three-time Pro Bowler, will reportedly undergo an MRI today to determine the severity of the right knee injury he sustained in practice Sunday.

Adam Schefter of ESPN first reported of Dickerson's imminent MRI:

Dickerson was injured near the end of the team's annual evening open practice to the public, which was attended by about 60,000 fans. He went down to the ground on a play that led to Jalen Hurts passing to Saquon Barkley in the flat.

Dickerson was helped off the field to the sideline and later taken in a cart back to the locker room. He's a major piece of the Eagles' imposing run game and one of the top young players at his position, having made the Pro Bowl in each of the past three seasons.

But he's also struggled with a long injury history going back to college, and most recently underwent a left knee procedure this offseason after suffering an injury while playing center in the NFC Championship game in place of injured Cam Jurgens. Dickerson's exit from the game forced Jurgens, dealing with a back injury that would later require surgery, into action.

Dickerson managed through the knee issue to play in the Super Bowl but then underwent a procedure early in the offseason and sat out of OTAs.

The Eagles have in-house options to replace Dickerson for the time being, and could possibly move Tyler Steen to left guard and find another new right guard, but a long-term injury to Dickerson would probably precipitate a veteran free-agent signing.

The Eagles took Dickerson 37th overall in the 2021 draft out of Alabama, knowing that Dickerson had already undergone two ACL surgeries and dealt with ankle injuries, one of which required the tightrope surgery.
