Carrying on Philadelphia’s centuries-old reputation as a great beer city, Yards Brewing Company attracts beer aficionados who appreciate high-quality, artisan brews.

This is a race for those who don't love marathons, don't love half-marathons and don't even like 5k runs, because the 5,000 Yards Dash is just under three miles.

Or it could be a race perfect for distance runners who want to join in a fun, short workout.

The race isn't until October but registration opens April 5. Participants will run along Delaware Avenue, through Penn's Landing and finish at Yards Brewery.

Once across the finish line, a festival with beer, music and food trucks will greet runners.

All who participate in the race will help benefit Philly Achilles, a local nonprofit that pairs disabled athletes with fitness guides.
