Sunday NFL wild-card round open thread

Now that we know who the Eagles' first playoff opponent will be, today's remaining wild-card playoff games have less importance to the Eagles. Still, Panthers-Saints has plenty of relevance, and, you know, it's still playoff football.

Saturday NFL wild-card round open thread

The NFL playoffs are here. With the Philadelphia Eagles resting up and enjoying a little time off on their first round bye, there will be four games this weekend, and three potential Birds opponents depending on how it all shakes out.

Eagles will face Falcons in divisional round of the playoffs

The Philadelphia Eagles got what most of their fan base wished for, which was an Atlanta Falcons win over the Los Angeles Rams in the wildcard round of the playoffs. That result means that the Eagles' first opponent in the divisional round will be the Falcons next Saturday at 4:35 p.m.

Carson Wentz voted MVP (but not the real one)

When the NFL announces the MVP of the 2017 season, it likely won't be Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz, who tore his ACL Week 14 in Los Angeles against the Rams, ending his season  (you know, in case you've been living in a cave). Eagles sacks-allowed tally: 2017

In 2017, two Philadelphia Eagles offensive linemen, RT Lane Johnson and RG Brandon Brooks, were (rightfully) voted into the Pro Bowl. A third, C Jason Kelce, probably should have gotten in as well, and a fourth, LT Jason Peters, likely would have made it if he hadn't been lost for the season Week 7 with a torn ACL and MCL against the Washington Redskins. In short, the Eagles' offensive line got excellent play from its offensive line starters in 2017, with a few exceptions.

Wild-card round NFL picks (and playoff bracket predictions)

For the gambling degenerates, here are my NFL wild-card round picks. Oh, and my playoff bracket predictions. To note, the helmets indicate who I think will win the game, not cover the spread. At the end of the picks, I'll note a few teams that I like based on the spread.

Doug Pederson discusses 'distraction' of assistant coaching interviews during playoffs

During the 2015 playoffs, Doug Pederson interviewed with the Philadelphia Eagles while he was still the offensive coordinator for the Kansas City Chiefs, who had not yet been eliminated. As such, he knows the challenges of interviewing with another team for a head coaching position while trying to not allow it to affect the task at hand.
