A Philadelphia pub owner was charged Friday in a $47,209 fraud scheme, U.S. Attorney Zane David Memeger announced. Michael Hoffner Sr., the owner of the Brown Street Pub, located at 24th and Brown streets, was charged with 23 counts of wire fraud in an alleged scheme to defraud Navy Federal Credit Union and American Express.
