Study: Philadelphia one of the best cities in the nation for football fans

It's no secret that Philadelphia is home to some pretty intense sports fans, but one recently published study says it's one of the best in the nation.

Ahead of the Super Bowl, WalletHub, a personal finance website, crunched some numbers to find "2017's Best & Worst Cities for Football Fans" published Monday. The City of Brotherly Love landed in a pretty favorable spot in the list of 244 cities.

Philly ranked at No. 7, falling a few spots behind Pittsburgh ranked at No. 2.

WalletHub compiled the list according to a number of different factors, including the number of NFL and college football teams, average ticket price for an NFL game and fan friendliness. The website considered population size, too.

Each category considered details like stadium capacity, championship wins, number of fans and more. WalletHub took data from the U.S. Census Bureau, ESPN and marketing reports into consideration to put the report together.
