Detour signs and street closures will start Wednesday evening into Thursday morning as work crews reattach a missing D that was knocked off the iconic Ardmore bridge sign on Anderson Avenue, Lower Merion officials announced Monday.

A truck reportedly hit the letter, leaving it dangling until it was removed last May.

To make the fix, Anderson Avenue will be closed on both sides of the bridge starting at 8 p.m. Wednesday and ending by 5 a.m. Thursday. Station Avenue will remain partially open so commuters can reach the Ardmore train station and the SEPTA parking lot.

To keep traffic flowing, Lower Merion Township announced the following detours:

Westbound Lancaster Avenue: Detour from Woodside Road to Montgomery Avenue, east on Montgomery to Anderson.

Eastbound Lancaster Avenue: Follow to Church Road, left onto Church, left onto Coulter Avenue. No left turn is allowed at Montgomery and Church.

Westbound Montgomery Avenue: Follow Montgomery Avenue westbound to Woodside Road, left at Woodside, left onto Lancaster.

Eastbound Montgomery Avenue: Follow Montgomery Avenue eastbound to Church Road, right onto Lancaster Avenue, to Station Road.
