Saturday, Aug. 15, the BAYADA Regatta will host a day of rowing and family-friendly fun along the Schuylkill River. BAYADA Home Health Care is sponsoring the event, which is the nation's oldest all-adaptive rowing competition for athletes with physical disabilities.

Adaptive rowing is done with a modification of equipment and technique that allows athletes with disabilities to row. The BAYADA Regatta began in 1981 and is now the largest competition of its kind.

Spectators can come watch the races all day free of charge. In addition to the races and medal ceremonies, there will be live entertainment, music and crafts for kids to enjoy. Free soft pretzels and water will also be available to spectators as they camp out in lawn chairs along the banks of the Schuylkill to watch.
