A serious crash involving a van and dump truck left one person dead and traffic backed up along a New Jersey road Thursday morning, NBC10 reports.
The incident occurred around 7 a.m. along Route 70 near Lakehurst Road (County Route 530) in Browns Mills, Burlington County.
Authorities say a dump truck overturned and crushed a van, leaving one person dead and the truck's load on the roadway.

Route 70 at the county line was shut down in both directions, and Lakehurst Road was shut down at Whitesbogs Road as a result of the crash, according to the Pemberton Township Volunteer Fire Department.
Drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes.
The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
