Girl Scouts builds girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place. From developing important life skills like problem-solving and teamwork to developing a professional resume for college and career, Girl Scouts build a strong foundation and members learn how to set goals and accomplish them. A long-standing tradition with an extensive alumni network, from Hilary Clinton and Condoleezza Rice to Taylor Swift and Katie Couric, Girl Scouts is a no-limits place designed for girls, by girls. Based on its time-tested methods and research-backed programs, the Girl Scout Leadership Experience helps members grow into strong, honest, fair, friendly, and considerate girls, continuing the Girl Scout legacy and a life-long, global community.
Research, including The Girl Scout Impact Study, shows that Girl
Scouts stand out significantly and are more likely to exhibit strong
leadership outcomes, earn excellent grades, and are more hopeful about
their futures. Compared to non-Girl Scouts, Girl Scouts have a stronger
sense of self and are ethical, honest, responsible, and more likely to
develop and maintain healthy relationships. As the foundation of the
Girl Scout program, the Girl Scout Leadership Experience is designed to empower girls as they
learn a broad set of skills, attitudes, and behaviors to achieve their
goals, become productive problem-solvers and effectively navigate their
environment. From Daisies (grades K-1) to Ambassadors (grades 11-12), Girl Scouts of all ages are
encouraged to step outside their comfort zone and build their self-esteem,
leadership skills, and overall confidence in preparation for a lifetime of
success and adventure.
Whether it's earning badges for everything from cybersecurity to first aid,
exploring the outdoors through camp programing, honing business skills
during Cookie Season, or making a difference in the community,
Girl Scouts
become creative thinkers and decision-makers through fun activities
designed to boost confidence and social skills. These “fun with a purpose”
activities help girls recognize their strengths and become better team
members. Beyond Badges, Girl Scouts can Take Action in their community
while supporting a cause or issue they care about to earn one of Girl
Scouting’s highest awards, Bronze, Silver, or Gold awards. These projects
teach girls to identify a problem and create an action plan to solve it,
allowing them to contribute to their community in a meaningful way.
Projects with a tangible impact help prepare girls to play an active role
in their communities even after they have completed their project to
positively impact the world around them.
