Phillies fans are advised to allow for extra time getting to and from the game on Wednesday afternoon. A lengthy stretch of I-95 will be closed temporarily around 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to accommodate Vice President Kamala Harris' visit to Montgomery County.

Phillies fans are being advised to take public transportation to Wednesday's game because Interstate 95 will temporarily close immediately before the game.

The Phillies did not specify the reason for the road closure, but Vice President Kamala Harris is scheduled to speak in Elkins Park, Montgomery County, at 2:30 p.m. She is expected to land at Philadelphia International Airport at 1 p.m.

I-95 northbound will close for a short period around 1 p.m. from Essington Avenue in Southwest Philadelphia to Academy Road in Northeast Philly. The Phillies game against Toronto Blue Jays is scheduled to begin at 1:05 p.m.

I-95 southbound will close temporarily along the same stretch around 4 p.m. – which could cause delays for people leaving the ballgame. The average baseball game has lasted 2 hours and 36 minutes this season.

Harris is visiting the area for a campaign event centered on reproductive rights. "Abbott Elementary" actor Sheryl Lee Ralph will appear with Harris.

The red-hot Phillies beat the Blue Jays, 10-1, on Tuesday night to win their seventh straight game. Fans hoping to see them continue their winning streak are advised to allow extra travel time to and from the game, or to take SEPTA.
