15-year-old boy injured in shooting outside West Philly church, police say

Patroling police officers responded to the sounds of gunfire on 50th Street and Locust Street. A 15-year-old boy was shot in the leg and is in the hospital for injuries. Police detained two individuals who fled from the scene and are seeking two others.

A video shared on social media shows the officer firing four shots after the cane corso and three pit bulls brought the man to the ground.

Drivers with illegally tinted windows can be fined $100 under new Philly law

Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker signed a City Council bill that imposes a $100 fine on the owners of cars with tinted windows that violate Pennsylvania law. Councilmember Mike Driscoll says it will help combat crime. He noted that the getaway car used in the March 6 shooting at the SEPTA bus stop in Burholme had tinted windows.

1 person dead, 3 injured in shootings in Southwest Philly

A pair of shootings in Southwest Philadelphia late Tuesday afternoon left a 34-year-old woman dead and three others injured. The first shooting occurred on the 7000 block of Wheeler Street, near Elmwood Avenue, at 4:17 p.m. The second occurred about an hour later near Elmwood Park. Police have not said whether they believe they are related.
