Philadelphia is famed for being haunted — it is, after all, one of the oldest cities in America. We had Ghost Hunters here, and now two Philadelphians are creating a horror flick right here in the City of Brotherly Love.

"American Exorcist" is about a paranormal investigator — hired to debunk pesky haunting rumors — that ends up trapped in a skyscraper on Christmas Eve.

The film stars Philadelphia native Falon Joslyn and is the brainchild of the founders of the comic and film studio South Fellini, Tony Trov and Johnny Zito. The duo successfully funded their previous horror film, "Alpha Girls: A Satanic Sorority Slasher" off Kickstarter.

Although Technical.ly Philly said the location is undisclosed, shots from the film's Kickstarter video show the former Philadelphia Inquirer building. The 18-story structure was purchased in 2011 to developer Bart Blatstein, Philly.com reported.

The filmmakers have raised $30,000 to start filming, but seek to raise $15,000 more, via Kickstarter, for post-production costs. You can donate to their Kickstarter campaign, which ends March 20, here.
