For those who crave an adrenaline rush but could never imagine actually doing something like jumping out of a plane, there's now a solution. iFLY, located next to King of Prussia Mall, is an indoor skydiving facility that uses vertical wind tunnels to replicate the feeling of free-falling.
The new facility is now open and taking reservations. Almost anyone is able to fly, with an age range from 3 to 103. There are a few restrictions, including a weight limit of 230, otherwise the program aims to make stimulated skydiving possible for the majority interested.
To prepare for flight, customers complete a training class guided by one of iFLY’s flight and safety instructors. After training is complete, they dress in flight gear, which includes goggles, helmet and flight suit, and then -- with their instructor at their side -- enter the flight chamber.
First-time flyers should arrive one hour before the time booked to fly, to make sure training is completed in time. Once someone has gained more flight experience, they will be able to fly with friends or others of the same skill level.
Flight packages begin at $69.95 for first-time flyers. Exact hours of operation have yet to be announced.
