Who needs a stinky gym when you can do yoga with this view?

If you're a fan of yoga and free stuff, then get excited. Now that spring has sprung, free yoga classes on the Race Street Pier and the Schuylkill River Banks are returning to get you (peacefully) into shape.

Yoga on the Race Street Pier returns Saturday, April 11, for free sessions every day of the week. Classes run at 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, with one class at 7 a.m. Fridays and one at 9:30 a.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

The classes are led by Dhyana Yoga and require you to bring your own mat. Donations are happily accepted to keep the program up and running.

On the other side of town, Yoga on the Banks returns Saturday, April 18. Right by the Schuylkill Banks Boardwalk, classes take place on the grass by 25th and Locust streets. Erin Gautsche and Ashley Renee Wagner teach the classes, which also require you to bring a mat.

Sessions are on Saturdays and Sundays at 11 a.m. and on Tuesdays at 7 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Donations help this class get along too, and children and dogs are welcome.

Both programs are teaming up for a fundraiser on Thursday, April 23, at the Plough and the Stars. Entrance is free, but a $10 donation is recommended. Funds raised will go toward improving the classes with things like sound systems and music.

Looking for more donation-based yoga? Check out Philly Yoga Factory, which practices in Center City and hosts yoga classes every day.
