The Fred J. Cooper Memorial Organ.

The Kimmel Center is putting the Fred J. Cooper Memorial Organ to good use Friday, May 29. The massive instrument will accompany a screening of the "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari" at Verizon Hall.

The classic silent horror film from 1920 tells the story of hypnotist Dr. Caligari. He spends his days introducing guests to psychic somnambulist Cesare at a small town German carnival. At night, Caligari and Cesare wreak havoc on the town.

Acclaimed organist Steven Ball will play the film's accompaniment on the pipe organ. After the showing, guests are welcomed onto the stage to feel the organ's vibrations as they move around the room.
