PATCO outlines DNC week plans

The High Speed Line will get travelers to the convention and "Camden Rising" concert

PATCO will launch additional train-cars and have increased security in place next week during the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, the Courier-Post notes.

According to the Courier-Post, there will be four extra cars added to the train during non-rush hours – up from two to six – as well as more cars before and after the 1 p.m. “Camden Rising” concert on July 28 at the BB&T Center on the Camden Waterfront.

Officials said PATCO may also run trains more frequently next week, but that hasn’t yet been formally solidified.

In terms of added security, PATCO General Manager John Rink noted that the Delaware River Port Authority, which owns and operates PATCO, recently participated in an active shooter and improvised explosive device drill that spanned multiple transit systems, and the response results were positive.
